Warriors Weekly Rewind
The Warriors couldn't have gotten off to a worse start this season. They're surrendering a league worst 123.3 points per game and have the second worst margin of defeat in the league as of Sunday morning.
- Game 1: Warriors 96, Jazz 117- On the court it sure wasn't pretty, but up in the stands- it was a great time out! Close to 900 GSoMers rocked the Roaracle even more than that 5.6 earthquake. Best Warriors loss I've ever experienced!
- Game 2: Warriors 114, Clippers 120- The good news: Kelenna Azubuike had a marvelous game. The bad news: The Clips are one of the league's worst teams.
- Game 3: Warriors 110, Jazz 133- The Warriors did manage to cut the Jazz lead down to 6 points at one point in the 4th, but a blowout's still a blowout. There are no moral victories when you're 0-3.
Tuesday November 6: Warriors vs Cavs
This will be the only time young superstar LeBron James comes to Oakland this season- unless the Cavs and Warriors meet up in the NBA Finals for a wild showdown of opposites colliding (free flowing offense vs tough, gritty defense), which is about as likely right now as the Warriors winning the battle of the boards on any given night. Unfortunately the Cavs are another one of those teams the Warriors simply can't match up with inside. Drew Gooden and Zydrunas Ilgauskas are going to give the Dubs a lot of trouble in the paint. Hopefully Andris Biedrins can nullify Gooden's impact especially on the glass and Al Harrington can stop Ilgauskas from scoring at will in the low block, otherwise it's going to be a long night in Oakland.
Nellie will probably throw a defense by committee approach at LeBron, but there's really no stopping The King. The more the Warriors keep the rock out of his hands and in Larry Hughes and Daniel Gibson's hands the better. As a hoops fan it'll be fun watching LeBron put up 30-7-7.
Prediction: 1 for the L column
Thursday November 8: Warriors vs Mavericks
There's no better time for the first W of the season for the Warriors than against their rivals from Dallas especially at home in Oakland. It's time to bust out the We Believe tee's and play 20,000 vs 5 again on national TV. Let's show Chuck we didn't forget what happened last Spring.
This game is where Stephen Jackson's loss is going to be felt the most for the Warriors. Throughout last season's shock the world playoff upset, Jax played some spectacular shut down D on the league's MVP Dirk Nowitzki. Hopefully Matt Barnes and Al Harrington can approach Jackson's level of intensity and craftiness against Dirk on D. If they can, it's going to feel like a Game 7 playoff win against the Mavs and the Warriors' first W of the season is going to spark a huge turnaround for this squad. A date with the Mavs in Oakland is exactly what the doctor ordered after such a horrid start to 2k7-2k8.
Times are rough for Warriors Nation right now, but hopefully this trip down memory lane will put a big unBELIEVABLE smile on everyone's faces:

I actually think the Warriors have a better chance against the Cavs than they do against the Mavs. No Jack equals Lebron to the rack. Big Z (7'3) has a disease, and the only cure is double teams. Unfortunately for the W faithful, that means more 3's for Boobie who's willing and able, to knock them down.
But a steady dose of the Body Guard hopefully puts us on par for a big first season victory, and then maybe on Thursday...we'll make history, again.
